Obama or Romney? Many Celebrities Stan for Their Favorite Presidential Candidate

In Vegas, performing at a rally for President Obama, pop princess Katy Perry made it clear on who she’ll be casting her vote for November 6th hoping you execute your same right to vote with her same decision in mind. The form-fitting dress outlines exactly what an electoral ballot will look like  labeling the democratic nominees “Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s” box filled in, while the box for Mitt Romney is left blank. Ms. Perry performed a series of  hits while encouraging everyone in the crowd to vote early.

It’s no secret that power couple Beyonce and Jay-z stan for our President Barack Obama, most recently raising 4 million dollars at a fundraiser for the President’s campaign.

Above Former Republican Secretary of State has decided to continue riding with the Obama administration with recently endorsing him and stating he will have his vote come November 6th.

Via CBS News Powell explained his choice to Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell:

When he took over, the country was in very very difficult straits. We were in the one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression. The fiscal system was collapsing. Wall Street was in chaos, we had 800,000 jobs lost in that first month of the Obama administration and unemployment peaked a few months later at 10 percent. So we were in real trouble. The auto industry was collapsing, the housing was start[ing] to collapse and we were in very difficult straits. And I saw over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community, housing is now starting to pick up after four years, it’s starting to pick up. Consumer confidence is rising.”

One of President Obama’s “35″ Ambassador’s actress Eva Longoria  has been a huge supporter for our President and the Latino community.

Eva has told the media…

“I’m a big Obama supporter no matter what he’s been through — he’s been beaten up the past couple of years,” Longoria said, according to the Huffington Post. “He’s been very receptive for me, I’m a big advocate for Latino issues, and so he’s been a big listener and he’s done a lot of coalitions and roundtables regarding what we want changed.”

The ever so  “Clueless” actress Stacey Dash seems to be catching a lot of heat from fans and Black Hollywood for all of a sudden becoming a Republican and endorsing Mitt Romney by doing a photoshoot of her dressed in a red bathing suit above.  Along with the picture Stacey tweeted “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,

Sassy actress Vivica Fox stated her opinion of Dash’s photoshoot in the above video proclaiming  “This is not classy at all.”  Fox suggests that when you give an endorsement that you should do it with class.

Do you agree? Since Stacey is “jobless”, was she looking for some attention or a new gig? Hmmm

The rapper-turned-country-rocker, Kid Rock sung “Born Free,” Mitt Romney’s official campaign song, at the presidential candidate’s final Michigan rally before Romney’s home state voted on February 28 for the Republican candidate’s race earlier this year. Most recently Kid Rock has decided to eat his own words stating months ago to CMT “I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics,” he told CMT Insider. “Because at the end of the day, I’m good at writing songs and singing. What I’m not educated in is the field of political science.” The rocker weeks ago decided to make an appearance at a campaign rally stating that he was endorsing Romney……..

I guess Kid

And how can we forget about the undercover racist, toupee wearing Donald Trump.  Trump’s big “announcement” dropped Wednesday via youtube, where he offered  $5 million for President Barack Obama to reveal his college transcripts and passport application. Trump, however, still refuses to show his own records.  If you care to watch Trump’s video its below….

Our comical President addressed Trump’s foolishness in the video below while on Jay Leno last night.

Do celebrities sway undecided or uncommitted voters decision in a presidential race? What do you think about these celebrities and public figures choices in the upcoming election? Whom will you all be voting for on November 6th 2012?

Guards Up! Minorities Being Pushed Away From the Polls

Nearly four years ago when the current President of the United States, Barack Obama was first elected, minority voters shocked the world by coming out in droves to elect the first non-white president in the history of the United States.  Today, as we stand less than three weeks away from voting on whether or not Obama will take on a second term, Republican officials and special interest groups have been working OVERTIME to ensure that the minority turnout this year is nowhere near what it was four years ago.

For example, in 2010, Republican Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Corbett signed a law that only allowed people without ID to cast “provisional” ballots, which would be thrown out unless they returned with ID within six days.  The Pennsyvlania legislature is one of several that, after Republicans took control passed legislation to make it harder, rather than easier, to vote.  Opponents of the voter identification law had expressed fears that it could dissuade or prevent tens of thousands of mostly poor, elderly, young or infirm citizens from voting. According to the Huffington Post, this voter ID bill, like similar moves to restrict voter registration, eliminates early voting, purges voter rolls and sends pollwatchers into minority precincts where voter fraud isn’t even an issue.  Recently, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge Robert E. Simpson postponed the enforcement of the state’s new strict voter ID requirement until after the November presidential election.  However, “postponed” doest not mean “stopped.”  Minority voters will continue to face this type of resistance every time their presence threatens opposing forces.

A second effort by the GOP to stunt minority voting comes in the form of setting out to stop early voting in the state of Ohio.  One of the greatest minority political successes thus far was the allowance of early voting in certain states.  However, most Republicans were hell-bent on deterring this. Ohio Secretary of State, John Husted set out to prevent voters from casting their ballots the weekend before Election Day. Husted even went as far as to stall efforts by African-American churches to shuttle people to the polls after church on Sunday. In 2008, the weekend before Election Day was a prime voting period for minorities.   Fortunately, this past Tuesday, the Supreme Court rejected a last-gasp appeal by Ohio Republicans and approved early voting for Ohio residents on the weekend before Election Day.  However, soon after the Supreme Court released their decision, Husted issued a directive to election boards enforcing stricter and shorter voting hours for Election Day weekend.

Finally and slightly less overtly, minorities may be swindled or misled by false facts or information.  This week, in Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio (known to be publicly anti-Latino) attached a document to voter registration cards that falsely claimed in Spanish that Election Day will take place on November 8, 2012.  A correction was later released in English, and the county claims they caught the mistake early and only 50 people received the misinformation.

SMH NEWS: Madonna Acknowledges President Obama as a “Black Muslim” in the Nation’s Capital!

Aw Hell Madonna! Less than six months to election and Madonna already adding confusion to the unwise about President Barack Obama’s identity! This not the time to twist the facts!

During her concert in Washington, DC (in all the places), Madonna decided to express her political views in the mix of her performance. Luckily for us and not for her, a guest from the audience captured her statement in regards to our former President.

“>k_itqDY6ElQ

According to  Reuters.com she stated “Now, it’s so amazing and incredible to think that we have an African-American in the White House … we have a black Muslim in the White House … it means there is hope in this country, and Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man,”.

Addressing the President as a “black Muslim” amused and confused the audience. Now, I don’t know our former president’s life history; however, through the years of his presidency I am sure most are aware of his religion by now. I am not sure if Madonna was a bit intoxicated or tired from all the entertaining she was providing for her fans but a huge SMH towards that comment. We hear you Madonna but let’s get the facts straight! (376)

First Lady Michelle Obama Speaks at the Democratic National Convention

Last night, the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Smiling and humbled by the chants of thousands in attendance at the opening night of the DNC, she seemed to glow with positivity and optimism. All decked out in a beautiful rose-hued dress designed by Detroit’s own, Tracy Reese, Michelle began her speech, first thanking the woman who had announced her, Elaine Frye, a devoted mother of four children. Three of whom are in the military.  Michelle then continued on, recounting her and Barack’s similar upbringings, ones that were not very rich in money but overly wealthy in love.  She spoke of her admiration for her husband, and his mission to make our nation a better place, not just for Democrats or Republicans, blacks or whites, poor or rich but for everyone.  Finally when Michelle ended her speech, she reassured everyone that her husband was the best candidate for President of the United States.  He remains confident, assured and patient at all times, and he works tirelessly to get the job done, even in the most difficult of times.  Watch Michelle Obama’s full speech at the Democratic National Convention below.

Sarcasm, Attention Or Republican? Nicki Minaj Endorses Mitt Romney On Debut Song “Mercy”

When not gluing her lace front wigs on and popping bubble gum, Nicki Minaj has apparently found the time to tune into CNN and form an opinion on whom she will be voting for come November 6th’s presidential election date.

A real woman of politics, Nicki Minaj, created a frenzy Monday evening with the release of a remix of Kanye West’s song “Mercy,” in which she apparently endorses Mitt Romney. “I’m a Republican/voting for Mitt Romney/you lazy b———s are f——— up the economy,” Minaj raps on Lil Wayne’s fresh mixtape, “Dedication 4.” With the majority of her fans being liberal, young, urban and every adjective a Republican is typically not, has many fans and politicians confused. Nicki has yet to respond to her fans as many are wanting answers.

So I guess the past three and a half years of health care reform, rebuilding of the auto industry, returning of troops and the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden were just not enough for Nicki….

What is your opinion of this? Should Nicki have a seat in Clint Eastwood’s invisible chair or do you agree with Nicki’s lyrics? (3935)

VAGINA, VOICE, VOTE! Vagina Monologues Take Over Michigan State Capital After Female Lawmakers Silenced

We all know Eve Ensler to be that androgenous image and powerfully femininst voice behind the popular play, The Vagina Monologues which over the past 15 years, has rapidly gained international attention and acclaim for being a vehement symbol against female gender discrimination and mistreatment.  Well, once again, Ms. Ensler has taken her vajayjay stories on the road and landed smack dab in the heart of Michigan, our state capital, Lansing.

Ensler’s visit was sparked by the barring of two Michigan female legislators from speaking on the state House floor after they made some controversial comments regarding the sanctioning of abortion providers.  On Thursday, State Reps. Lisa Brown, D-West Bloomfield, and Barb Byrum, D-Onondaga, were told that they wouldn’t be recognized to publicly speak on any matters before the House because of comments they made Wednesday during an emotional debate on a bill that puts new restrictions on abortion providers.  The bill Byrum and Brown were arguing against provides for sweeping new regulations and insurance requirements for abortion providers, making it a crime to coerce a woman into having an abortion and also regulating the disposal of fetal remains.  This bill was actually passed on a 70-39 vote, but won’t be taken up to state Senate until September at the earliest.
