Lately there has been a very hot topic in American sports involving athletes and their sexuality and the masculine stigma that athletes carry which have kept most gay male athletes in the closet. Today in sports, Boston Celtics center Jason Collins announced he was gay. While few Olympians, equestrians, figure skaters, and football player Esera Tuaolo, and former basketball player John Amaechi have all revealed they are gay, Collins is the first active player in the NBA to come out as an openly gay man. With the likes of alleged “closeted” gay athletes such as Kerry Rhodes pictured below, will more gay men and women find comfort in knowing other athletes are coming out the closet?
Above, Rhodes is pictured with former gay assistant where rumors started to swirl that the two were in a relationship. According to Rhodes’ assistant, those rumors are true. Rhodes has however denied the claims stating he has been with a woman for 10 years and they are getting married in June. “I am not gay. The shots were taken during a past vacation in a casual environment with my entire business team.”

I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.
I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn’t the kid in the classroom raising his hand and saying, “I’m different.” If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I’m raising my hand.
My journey of self-discovery and self-acknowledgement began in my hometown of Los Angeles and has taken me through two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.
I’ve played for six pro teams and have appeared in two NBA Finals. Ever heard of a parlor game called Three Degrees of Jason Collins? If you’re in the league, and I haven’t been your teammate, I surely have been one of your teammates’ teammates. Or one of your teammates’ teammates’ teammates.
Now I’m a free agent, literally and figuratively. I’ve reached that enviable state in life in which I can do pretty much what I want. And what I want is to continue to play basketball. I still love the game, and I still have something to offer. My coaches and teammates recognize that. At the same time, I want to be genuine and authentic and truthful.
In Vegas, performing at a rally for President Obama, pop princess Katy Perry made it clear on who she’ll be casting her vote for November 6th hoping you execute your same right to vote with her same decision in mind. The form-fitting dress outlines exactly what an electoral ballot will look like labeling the democratic nominees “Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s” box filled in, while the box for Mitt Romney is left blank. Ms. Perry performed a series of hits while encouraging everyone in the crowd to vote early.
It’s no secret that power couple Beyonce and Jay-z stan for our President Barack Obama, most recently raising 4 million dollars at a fundraiser for the President’s campaign.
Above Former Republican Secretary of State has decided to continue riding with the Obama administration with recently endorsing him and stating he will have his vote come November 6th.

When he took over, the country was in very very difficult straits. We were in the one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression. The fiscal system was collapsing. Wall Street was in chaos, we had 800,000 jobs lost in that first month of the Obama administration and unemployment peaked a few months later at 10 percent. So we were in real trouble. The auto industry was collapsing, the housing was start[ing] to collapse and we were in very difficult straits. And I saw over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community, housing is now starting to pick up after four years, it’s starting to pick up. Consumer confidence is rising.”
One of President Obama’s “35″ Ambassador’s actress Eva Longoria has been a huge supporter for our President and the Latino community.
Eva has told the media…
“I’m a big Obama supporter no matter what he’s been through — he’s been beaten up the past couple of years,” Longoria said, according to the Huffington Post. “He’s been very receptive for me, I’m a big advocate for Latino issues, and so he’s been a big listener and he’s done a lot of coalitions and roundtables regarding what we want changed.”
The ever so “Clueless” actress Stacey Dash seems to be catching a lot of heat from fans and Black Hollywood for all of a sudden becoming a Republican and endorsing Mitt Romney by doing a photoshoot of her dressed in a red bathing suit above. Along with the picture Stacey tweeted “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,”
Sassy actress Vivica Fox stated her opinion of Dash’s photoshoot in the above video proclaiming “This is not classy at all.” Fox suggests that when you give an endorsement that you should do it with class.

The rapper-turned-country-rocker, Kid Rock sung “Born Free,” Mitt Romney’s official campaign song, at the presidential candidate’s final Michigan rally before Romney’s home state voted on February 28 for the Republican candidate’s race earlier this year. Most recently Kid Rock has decided to eat his own words stating months ago to CMT “I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics,” he told CMT Insider. “Because at the end of the day, I’m good at writing songs and singing. What I’m not educated in is the field of political science.” The rocker weeks ago decided to make an appearance at a campaign rally stating that he was endorsing Romney……..

Trump’s big “announcement” dropped Wednesday via youtube, where he offered $5 million for President Barack Obama to reveal his college transcripts and passport application. Face Lace, designed by world renowned make up artist Phyllis Cohen, was a huge success in Paris during the autumn/winter 2012 catwalk shows back in February. Phyllis created these beautiful facial adornments for the Corrie Nielsen show you see displayed here. Chanel followed suit in their Fall 2012 show with sequin bedecked brows. This fascinating trend has catched the eye of many including the ever so eccentric Lady Gaga who has worn full facial and body lace to red carpet events. For a more subdue look but with the same effect, Cohen has created a collection of face lace for the daring fashionista!

The talented songwriter and singer, Frank Ocean whom first received press in early 2011 after the release of his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra has been promoting his debut album were he suggests his love for a he and not a she.
The New Orleans ghost writer, previewed his debut album for the London press recently and more than a few critics caught the bisexual undertones Frank Ocean placed in the songs Bad Religion, Pink Matter and Forrest Gump. Read the below excerpt, a review on This Is Max:
“Frank has also opened up about his sexuality on the album, we think it’s brave and admire him for being so honest and sharing such a personal aspect of his life through his music. Israeli shoe designer, Kobi Levi is most certainly one of those overnight celebrities we all hear so much about and secretly hope to be someday. Since his childhood in Tel Aviv, Levi has been creating and devising unique shoe patterns that may require a little more thought than our normal every day footwear blueprints, but that also keep heads turning and necks breaking with his diverse spin on the pure essence of practicality. Even in high school, Levi was known to sit alone fashioning shoes out of ever day, normal substances like cardboard….talk about dedication!!!!
After his graduation from Jerusalem’s Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design in 2001, Kobi worked as a freelance footwear designer where he learned the trade secrets of shoe development and craftsmanship. In his leisure time, Levi went on to innovate shoe designs that not only popped with color and imagination, but that also sort of acted as walking riddles for the more risque fashionistas out there. However, Levi didn’t garner international attention until April 2010 when he started a blog to showcase his shoe designs, and before he knew it, the blog had taken on a life of its’ own attracting celebrities like Lady Gaga who used Levi’s Double Boot design in her “Born this Way” music video.
In July 2011, Kobi opened his studio in Tel Aviv and started to offer his original designs for sale, responding to the thousands of requests he had received from all over the world asking where these unique shoes could be purchased. In Levi’s studio he creates, develops and produces limited editions from his designs. All pairs are made by hand from high-quality materials. While shopping for shoes and I kept coming across flats, sandals, heels, pumps and boots with metal studs. In the beginning of spring I notice a couple of studded flats at DSW on display. Talk about head turning, show stoppin and causal poppin sneakers! Immediately I adored these shoes when I saw them for the first time. I wanted to faint but I was already on the floor. After I was conscious enough to move, I began to Google search its home and where I could find them.
