Raven-Symone and rumored girlfriend, AzMarie Livingston

Does anybody else remember that? It’s a lyric from the song, “My Friends” off 8-year-old Raven-Symone’s debut album, “Here’s To New Dreams,” released back in 1993, fresh off her stint as adorable, little Olivia Kendall on “The Cosby Show.” Now I can’t tell you any more of Raven’s song lyrics from ’93 up until now, but that one lyric has always stuck in my head and caused me to carry around a feeling of respect for her that I only reserve for a few female entertainers out here.
A few weeks ago, I talked about the latest media gossip surrounding Queen Latifah and her sexual orientation. I also went in to great detail on how I felt that the Queen was being singled out, due to the fact that she has kept such a low profile romantically. In my opinion, Raven-Symone has kept a similarly discreet profile when it comes to her personal life and who she dates, and it may NOT be just a coincidence that the media is now pointing a finger at her when looking to stir up new rumors.

Similar to Queen Latifah, no credible source yet has been able to confirm or deny Raven’s sexual orientation. As usual, it’s all just speculation. However, word on the street is that Raven is currently living or “shacking up” with former America’s Next Top Model contestant, AzMarie Livingston who is, infact, openly gay. According to a “very” credible source who spoke with The National Enquirer last week, the two have made their home in Raven’s luxury $11,000 a month condo in New York City.
Hmmmm….interesting. Were these same rumors going around when Raven-Symone and Lindsay Lohan were living together during their late teens? I think not! (LOL!) And we all know about Lindsay’s bisexual tendencies and her on-again, off-again relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson. It seems to me that if AzMarie and Raven are living together, it could very possibly be just a platonic roommate situation, and just because AzMarie is gay doesn’t mean Raven is too! UGH! The conclusions people jump to! They’re both young girls who share a life in the entertainment industry….sometimes, you don’t wanna go through that alone? Right???
To further clarify (or confuse) matters of her sexual orientation, a few days after the story leaked last week, Raven commented on her rumored relationship in the following tweets:
“I’m living my PERSONAL life the way I’m happiest. I’m not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I’m dating. and I shall not start now.”
“My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.”
“However that is my right as a HUMAN BEing whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I’m not harming anyone.”
“I am a light being made from love. And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life. Kisses!”
More power to you, Raven!!! I commend the fact that she has chosen to keep her personal life out of the media and also that she has taken the high road in response to these unsupported stories circulating about her. If Raven and AzMarie are truly getting it in, then I hope their love is as beautiful and prosperous as the light Raven tweeted about, but if they’re not, then let them two girls live their lives, whether together or apart. That “new generation” Raven rapped about all those years ago is never gonna come to fruition until the speculation ends and people (specifically the media) start basing their statements on truth. Oh yea, and if you can’t find the truth, then mind your own business!!! A person’s sexual orientation is their prerogative along with the person that they share their romantic life with!
