The Houston Family Chronicles: Good or Bad Exposure?

Anytime this year Whitney Houston’s sister in-law Pat Houston and brother Gary Houston along with Mother Cissy Houston decided to broadcast their lively hood to the public. Interesting enough cousin Dionne Warwick and close family friend CeCe Winans along with Bobbi Kristina will also be featured on the show “The Houston Family Chronicles” seen on Lifetime network.

The show is mainly focused on the family of Gary Houston and sister in-law Pat Huston. According to HuffingPost TV, Lifetime announced that this show will “take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her Mother.”

Is it a little early for the Houston family to expose their moments dealing with the grief and the mourning of Whitney Houston’s passing? Can this truly help Bobbi Kristina deal with the loss of her mother?

It’s hard to say whether this reality show will help Bobbi Kristina to handle the loss of her mother. People grieve in different ways. The best ways to handle grief is to talk about the person, cry when you need to and pray without ceasing when you feel like you can’t make it through the day. I believe that as long as the family showers her with love and support she will have comfort and strength in the months ahead.

It’s hard to say whether this reality show will help Bobbi Kristina through her grief. People grieve in different ways. However, as long as she has the love and support of those that are closest to her, she will do just fine. She should also allow time to grieve when she’s alone, and not deny her pain and loss. She should pray without ceasing, and allow God to comfort her heart, especially on the days that she feels like she can’t get out of bed because she’s so sad. She should let family gatherings take precedence over “Hollywood” gatherings if she can. Lastly, there are so many people praying for her, she’s going to be alright!

I will not watch the show and hope a lot of others also. The Houstons will help Bobbi Kristina the way they “helped” Whitney. They are all trying to capitalize on Whitneys death for money and I think its shameful. True grief and support is done in private not before cameras. P.S. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND RESPECT YOU WHITNEY, R.I.P
