Tyra Sanchez: The Face Of Drag Dad

I’m sure the majority of you all remember the fierce, talented, beautiful and drama filled Tyra Sanchez, winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race 2″. I loved Tyra because she provided me with everything I needed that season, but I’m sure most didn’t know that she is also a fulltime  father. James Williams Ross IV, otherwise known as Tyra Sanchez is the proud father of six year-old Jeremiah. A drag queen raising a child and a little boy at that? some may raise an eyebrow, but documentarian and Bjorn Floki wants to show what it’s truly like to be a doting father by day and a female impersonator by night. Floki says he got the idea while watching “RuPaul’s Drag Race “and thought it would be interesting to see James and his alter ego Tyra as a real person beyond the reality TV facade and what he is like a father juggling tw0 lifestyles. Also the film will explore what it’s like for Jeremiah to have a dad who is a fulltime female impersonator. This film is sure to gain a lot of critics because of the nature of the content, a draq queen father raising son, I feel that as long as he is raising Jeremiah with love and support then who are we to judge? Tyra seems like a loving father and I support this idea because hopefully it will open people’s eyes who are blind to this idea. The film is not done and is currently excepting donations until July 27th at 8:30pm. You won’t walk away empty handed if you chose to donate, those who give as low as $1 will get a downloadable version of “Drag Dad” when it’s finished and other perks include having Tyra go to your party with Floki’s cameras rolling, drag lessons from Tyra, and autographed books and pictures. To become a donor click here and watch Floki’s pitch.

What do you think? Can a drag queen raise a child? Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect.
